R.Y.C Ramgaijang Emerges Champion in 19th Thokchom Radhamani Memorial Senior (Open) Football Tournament

Football Tournament Final Match at Jiribam Higher Secondary School

Jiribam, 28 March 2025: The 19th Thokchom Radhamani Memorial Senior (Open) Football Tournament 2024-25 concluded with a thrilling final match at the Jiribam Higher Secondary School ground, organized by the All Jiribam Sports Association (AJSA). In the title clash, R.Y.C Ramgaijang secured a resounding 6-0 victory over Digli N.L Club, claiming the championship title, while Digli N.L Club had to settle for the runner-up position. The match attracted a significant number of football enthusiasts from Jiribam and neighboring areas, highlighting the importance of community engagement through sports.

The final match was officiated by Kh. Nilakamal Singh as the Centre Referee, with V. Joel and Iqbal serving as Assistant Referees, and Javed as the Reserve Referee. Their expert supervision ensured a fair and exciting game for players and spectators alike. The smooth conduct of the match was a reflection of AJSA's commitment to promoting sportsmanship and professionalism in local tournaments.

In the first half, R.Y.C Ramgaijang dominated the game, with Romgaikhuan scoring four goals in the 9th, 10th, 14th, and 37th minutes, giving his team a commanding 4-0 lead at halftime. The players demonstrated excellent teamwork, agility, and strategic play, leaving the opposing team struggling to catch up. In the second half, Neilachun and Poukheng added two more goals in the 51st and 75th minutes, sealing the 6-0 victory for R.Y.C Ramgaijang.

Romgaikhuan (Jersey No. 9) of R.Y.C Ramgaijang was awarded the prestigious Best Player of the Tournament award. The prize was presented by E. Toyai Singh of Jiribam Babupara, acknowledging his outstanding performance throughout the tournament. His consistent scoring ability and leadership on the field played a crucial role in his team's success and inspired many young players watching the tournament.

The closing ceremony was graced by notable dignitaries including P. Somenta Singh, Officer of the District Youth Affairs and Sports, Jiribam, S. Maniton Singh, Vice President of AJSA, Elangbam Toyai Singh, and the tournament’s donor, Th. Biramani Singh of Babupara, Jiribam. Their presence added grandeur to the event, and they praised the efforts of the organizers and players in making the tournament a grand success. Prizes for the Champion, Runner-up, and Best Player were distributed during the event, encouraging the young talents to continue excelling in sports.
