The event, which commenced on December 5, was held at the Jyoti Bishnu Sanskriti Prakalpa Bhawan (Amuthoi Sangeet Vidyalaya) in Chandpur, Sonai.

The camp served as a significant platform for young minds in the region to discipline themselves physically while gaining crucial knowledge about their heritage and modern leadership requirements.

A Blend of Physical Discipline and Historical Insight

The camp followed a structured routine, beginning each day with rigorous morning exercises and physical training. This physical conditioning set the tone for the intellectual sessions that followed.

On the concluding day, the morning theory session was led by Sagapam Merina. In an enlightening presentation, she educated the YMCA participants on the rich history of the Meitei community, specifically focusing on the migration and settlement of Meiteis in the Barak Valley. Beyond history, she emphasized the vital role the youth must play as future leaders to preserve their identity while contributing to society.

Leadership and Financial Literacy

The evening sessions were designed to bridge the gap between cultural values and modern necessities. Anup Singha, Zonal Head of Slice Bank, conducted a session imparting essential knowledge on Banking and Leadership. His insights provided the youth with a practical perspective on financial management and professional growth.

Nongthombam Dhiren, Advisor to the YMCA, addressed the campers on the qualities required to become a pillar of the future generation. He detailed the specific character traits and leadership qualities that the youth must cultivate to guide society effectively.

One of the participants shared their enthusiasm, stating, "This camp wasn't just about exercise; it was about connecting with our roots and understanding how to navigate the modern world as a leader. It has been a truly transformative experience."

Building a Stronger Society

The event concluded with a closing speech by YMCA Advisor, Dr. Raju Khumujam. He offered valuable advice on life skills and encouraged the participants to implement the lessons learned during the camp in their daily lives.

The Young Manipuri Council, Assam, continues to shoulder the responsibility of guiding the youth toward the right path to build a capable and robust society.
