In a heartwarming display of community spirit and gratitude, the National Youth Club, Singerband organized a grand felicitation ceremony on Sunday, December 7. The event, held at the auditorium of the Model High School in Singerband, was dedicated to honoring the lifelong contributions of retired educators and the achievements of the village's academic professionals.
The ceremony served as a bridge between the wisdom of the past and the ambition of the future, recognizing 14 retired teachers alongside a cohort of doctors, engineers, and literary figures who have brought laurels to the region.
Celebrating Pillars of the Community
The event was presided over by poet Tahir Sajabam. The dais was graced by Chief Guest and poet Thokchom Biswanath, alongside Special Guest and Sahitya Academy Translation Prize (2021) winner, M M Ahmed. Guests of Honor included S Muhibur Rahman, Jamal Uddin, Rahim Uddin, and Taher Ahmed Choudhury.
Among the distinguished professionals felicitated were Dr. Lansinlu Rongmei (MD in Gynaecology), Dr. Nafisa Ali, Dr. Uma Begum, Dr. Samim Nahar Begum, Engr. Wajiuddin Mufti, and Engr. Nazmul Haque Choudhury. The club also honored West Singerband G.P. President, Hajira Bibi.
The program commenced with a spiritual tone as Moulana Anwar Ahmed Nadwi recited verses from the Holy Quran. This was followed by an insightful speech by Moulana Wazi Uddin Nadwi, who emphasized the critical role of youth in shaping a better society.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Thokchom Biswanath delivered a moving speech on the current state of society. He expressed concern over the "eroding sense of humanity" in daily life and made a heartfelt appeal to the newly felicitated doctors and engineers. M M Ahmed, a literary pride of the region, expressed his profound happiness at being honored in his own village. "Receiving recognition from the people of Singerband, where my journey began, brings a unique sense of fulfillment," he remarked.
Representing the medical professionals, Dr. Lansinlu Rongmei shared an inspiring message with the students in the audience, asserting that "hard work and perseverance are the only true keys to success in life."
