SILCHAR, Sept 8: Cards were today distributed among the beneficiaries enlisted under Anna Suraksha Yojana today at a simple function organized at Gandhi Bhavan by Dinesh Prasad Goala, Minister of Urban Development and Housing. The minister said that the scheme initiated by the Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi was a part of the larger welfare drive of the State Government to help the needy and poor who are badly affected by the rising prices of essential commodities. The cards would help them get relief in their life and meet the essential need of sustaining themselves with their limited source of income. (The Sentinel)
