Government of Assam Elevates 25 Assistant Conservators to Deputy Conservators of Forests

Lakhipuronline Digital Desk : In a significant development, the Environment and Forest Department of the Government of Assam has announced the promotion of 25 Assistant Conservators of Forests to the esteemed position of Deputy Conservators of Forests. Among the distinguished individuals receiving this promotion is Mojibur Rahman Choudhury from the Cachar Division.

Mojibur Rahman Choudhury, a native of Cachar Lakhipur Dolugram village, began his journey in the environmental sector as a private English teacher before joining the Environment and Forest Department as a Forester. His dedication and performance were evident as he secured the 1st position during the Assam Forest School training, leading to his promotion as a Forest Range Officer.

Over the years, Choudhury has served in various capacities, contributing his expertise to locations such as Lakhipur, Udharband, Dholai, and other Forest Ranges across Assam. In December 2022, he achieved the position of Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) and has now been further elevated to the role of Deputy Conservator of Forests as of February 2024.

Born in the picturesque Dolugram village, Mojibur Rahman Choudhury received heartfelt felicitation from the staff of Royal Public Higher Secondary School, Dolugram, Cachar. His impressive career trajectory suggests a potential posting as the District Forest Officer (DFO) in Assam.

Notably, among the 25 Assistant Conservators promoted to Deputy Conservators of Forests, three hail from the Barak Valley. Alongside Mojibur Rahman Choudhury of Cachar Division, Uttamananda Goswami of Cachar Division, and Debajyoti Nath of Karimganj Division have also earned this prestigious promotion, marking a commendable achievement for the region.
