Lamargram Youth Association Extends Support to Refugees Fleeing Violence in Manipur

Lakhipuronline Digital Desk - Lamargram Youth Association, along with members of Sonai Lamargram Youth Association and Lamargram Khunou Manipuri Meirapaibi Lup, joined forces to provide crucial aid to individuals displaced by the recent outbreak of violence in Manipur. Led by Dr. M. Shantikumar Singh, Trinamool Congress state secretary, the group delivered essential relief materials to those seeking shelter in Chandpur and Bantarapur, both located in the Cachar district of Assam.
Expressing their unwavering support, the Lamargram Youth Association, represented by President Chandrakumar Singh, Secretary Jiten Sharma, Maimom Amrit Singh, Loidam Bibi, and Savitri Sana, collaborated with the Meirapaibi organization to address the urgent needs of the affected population. The relief efforts commenced at the Chandpur Amuthoi Kala Academy, where Academy President Dr. KN Chand expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Lamargram Youth Association for their dedicated assistance.
Continuing their mission, the officials of the Lamargram Youth Association ventured to the Barak Museum Bantarapur camp, where they distributed relief materials among the refugees. Dr. Rajmani Haorongbam, the head of Barak Museum, extended his appreciation for the association's efforts. One grateful resident of Luwangsangbam, Manipur, Tondon Singh, currently taking shelter at the Sonai Ganganagar camp, conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to the people of Cachar for their unwavering support during this distressing time.
Reflecting on the situation, Dr. M. Shantikumar Singh, in an address to reporters, expressed disappointment in the Indian government's failure to establish a democratic environment. He attributed the horrific incidents in Manipur to the pervasive spread of hatred and communal discord within society. Dr. Singh called for adequate relief and protection for the diverse ethnic groups taking shelter in Assam, urging authorities to take immediate action to restore peace to Manipur.
As the Lamargram Youth Association takes a stand alongside the victims of violence, their humanitarian efforts provide a glimmer of hope amidst the turmoil, reminding the affected communities that they are not alone in their struggle for safety and security.
