Assam Govt LP Teacher passed away in a bike accident

Hmarkhawlien, July 22: Assam Govt LP Teacher Mr. Jonathan Vaiphei, who has been working in Neithangveng Hmar LP School, Under Rajabazaar Block, Cachar, Assam met bike accident this Sunday morning around 10:30 am along with his brother Samuel Vaiphei, who is also currently working assistant teacher under Salchapra Education Block. Mr. Jonathan Vaiphei died at the spot while his brother got seriously injured was taken to Silchar Medical College and Hospital.

This incident happened when the duo went for their DELED classes in Silchar and met the fatality at Shivpur, around 25 km away from Silchar when a bike coming to their opposite and their moving bike suddenly got collided.

The dead body of Mr. Jonathan Vaiphei was first brought to Lakhipur Police Station and then sent to Silchar Medical College for post-mortem.

Sources said after the post-mortem, the dead body would be brought to Hmarkhawlien, where a short ceremony of his departure would be held and again he would be taken to Jorkha, where his parents are living for the final funeral programme. Late Mr. Jonathan Vaiphei and his ailing brother Samuel Vaiphei got regularised in 2016.
