Sub-divisional judicial court to be inaugurated at Lakhipur

Silchar, Nov 10: The long cherished desire of the residents of Lakhipur for having a sub-divisional judicial court will be fulfilled with its inauguration on November 19 by the Chief justice of Gauhati High Court at 11 am on that day. Kamalendu Choudhury, District Session Judge, Nityananda Talukdar, Chief Judicial Magistrate, C P Talukdar, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, A M Md. Mohiuddin, Assistant District Judge (No. 2) visited the newly constructed building of the court recently. It should be mentioned here that permission and other related matters for the construction of the court was granted during the Congress regime.
After looking at the court compound, the judges had a small meeting at Lakhipur Municipal Board which was presided by Rimi Paul, chairperson of the Board, and attended by Pradip Kumar Dey, member, Zila Parishad, advocate Sanjay Kumar Thakur and advocate L Mamon Singha, Lakhipur Notary Public. Members of Lakhipur Municipal Board have ensured that they would provide all kinds of aid and assistance during the time of inauguration of the court. Advocates will also be there at that time. At present, there will be two courts, MUNIFF Court that will settle cases related to land disputes and Sub-divisional Magistrate Court (SDJM), which only deal with criminal cases.
Former MLA, Late Dinesh Prasad Goala had a huge contribution in its opening. The permission was granted during his time and his son, MLA Rajdeep Goala has assured that very soon offices under the courts will also be opened. For that, he will request the State Government as well as the Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court. Rajdeep further said that he would specially help in all aspects related to the court. J R Lalsim, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Cachar and in-charge SDO (Civil), Lakhipur, has said that she will fully cooperate on the behalf of the Government. (Source:SentinelAssam)
