SILCHAR,June 2: Silchar Collegiate School bagged the limelight with its all time record achievements in the HSLC results declared by the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) today. Of the 142 students who appeared in the examination from this school, 138 secured first division and 4 second division. Significantly, 550 letters came to the successful students. 42 got distinctions. Star marks were obtained by 61 students.
Silchar Collegiate School hogged the limelight among all other institutions when Samanta Dey made a place of distinction by securing 9th position among 20 toppers in the state. She secured 96.4% in the examination. She obtained full marks in both General Mathematics and Advanced Mathematics. Quite notably, she is the topper in General Mathematics in the state.
Shyama Prasad Kar, principal of Silchar Collegiate School, who was flooded with congratulatory messages from the parents and guardians, expressed his happiness at the performance of students of his institution. He said it was the combined efforts of students, teachers and guardians which contributed towards the grand success. His message before the students for the next HSLC examination was to ensure 100% first division and of course top placements in the state.
A total of 19097 students appeared for the HSLC examination from Cachar this year. Of them 9952 could come out with flying colours. From Hailakandi and Karimganj districts, a total of 7051 and 11000 students respectively appeared in the examinations.
