SILCHAR, February 12: Nepram Maya Devi, Research scholar, Assam University, Silchar has been awarded PhD Degree by Assam University for her thesis entitled “Laishram Samarendragi Seirengda Samajik Chetana (Social consciousness in the poetry of Laishram Samarendra).” She carried out her research work under the supervision of Prof W Raghumani Singh, Department of Manipuri, Assam University, she is the second daughter of Nepram Khelendra and Nepram Ongbi RK Kamalasana of Sagolband, Nepram Menjor Leikai, Imphal, Manipur. She is also the recipient of “Jamini Sundar Guha Gold Medal” for her short stories book entitled Ngangleinabi Ethok Epom in 2013. (Source- SentinelAssam)
