AAMSU rally demands compensation, justice to Sanjib Singha

SILCHAR, August 24: All Assam Manipuri Students' Union (AAMSU), Lakhipur district committee, today brought out a rally demanding adequate compensation and proper justice to Irom Sanjib Kumar Singha who was thrown out of the running train near Allahabad and subsequently died due to severe head injuries.
The rally started from Fulertaland assembled before the office of the sub divisional officer of Lakhipur. After addressing the rally, Y Medhajit Singha, president, and Ranjan Laishram, general secretary of All Assam Manipuri Students' Union, submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister of Assam through SDO, Biresh Chandra Nath.
As reported earlier, I Sanjib Kumar Singha who was working in a private companyof Hyderabad, belonged to the village of Kaptanpur part-III under Lakhipur police station.
The memorandum stated that Sanjib Kumar Singha wasone of the victims of violence like many others from the Northeast. Being in panic caused by 'rumours' and 'hate-mails', Sanjib Kumar Singha too wanted to hurry back home. But, unfortunately, he had to meet the cruel fate on August17. Quite pathetic, he had left behind his wife and two little daughters, besides his old parents. The death of Sanjib Singha had shattered the family completely as he was the only source of livelihood for them.
Considering the plight and economic distress of the family and the circumstances in which Sanjib Kumar Singha was killed by miscreants, AAMSU leaders have demanded adequate compensation and proper justice by causing high level inquiry into his death. The rally was joined and supported by Yubak Sangha and Hindu Jagaran Manch as well as other organizations. (SENTINELASSAW)
