Government asked to cancel 15,000 posts of contract teachers

GUWAHATI, June 3: The Gauhati High Court has ordered cancelation of the advertisement issued by the State Government for 15,000 posts of teachers of LP and ME schools on contract basis. Judge Rishikesh Roy issued the order while hearing a writ petition filed by Padmeswar Das and others in the High Court challenging the advertisement issued by the government before the recent State Assembly polls for 15,000 posts of LP and ME school teachers on contract basis. The petitioners argued that the above advertisement should be cancelled on grounds that the State Government was yet to fill the vacancies in LP and ME schools in spiteof advertising and holding interview for them during 2005-06.
