Places for submitting nomination papers notified

SILCHAR, March 9: According to the District Election Office here, the places for submitting the nomination papers for the Assembly elections of the seven constituencies have been notified. For Silchar, nomination papers can be submitted in the office chamber of the Deputy Commissioner. For Sonai, this can be done in the office chamber of ADC Debashish Chakraborty, for Dholai in the Sadar Circle Officer’s chamber, for Udharband in the office chamber of ADC BC Nath, for Lakhipur ADC PC Nath’s chamber, for Borkhola in the office chamber of ADC SK Das and for Katigorah in the establishment of Deputy Commissioner in the Unnayan Bhavan.
The process of submitting nomination papers would begin from March 10. Nomination papers will be issued from the Election Office here and the security money deposit would also be accepted here. Nomination papers can be submitted till March 17. Scrutiny will take place on March 18 while withdrawal is on March 21. The date for exercising franchise is April 4. In all, 9,74,229 voters will exercise their franchise, of which 5,13,903 are males and 4,60,326 are females. Service voters account for 3,543. Among all the constituencies, Lakhipur has the highest number, mostly in defence services. (SentinelAssam)
