SILCHAR, Dec 4: Seventy solar-powered lamps have been sanctioned and allotted by the Government of Manipur for Jiribam municipal wards. Of them, ten have been received by the Jiribam Municipal Council that distributed them among the ten wards. It was informed by M Ratan Singh, chairman of the council. According to him, 60 other lamps are expected soon, they will be distributed among all the wards. This distribution of solar lights is part of the civic improvement plan of the State Government, pointed out the chairman. (Sentinelassam)
