Stress on periodic meeting of monitoring cell

SILCHAR, Nov 5: BJP MP Kabindra Purkayastha, president of vigilance and monitoring cell who presided over its proceedings on Thursday in the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner of Cachar Harendra Kumar Dev Mahanta in the presence of Dinesh Prasad Goala, Minister of Urban Development and Housing, Ajit Singh, Parliamentary Secretary, ZP president Dibyajyoti Barua and MLAs Parimal Shuklabaidya, Kutub Ahmed Majumder and Dr Rumi Nath among others laid stress on the meeting of the cell at least once within three months in order to review the progress of developmental works, schemes and projects, their problems and other deficiencies for remedial action.
The Deputy Commissioner favoured on time implementation of development schemes which in case of delay escalate the estimated cost. The meeting took stock of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, Indira Gandhi Awas Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana, National Rural Drinking Water Mission and Swarna Jayanti Gramswarajgar Yojana. The progress in respect of these schemes was monitored till September.
While reviewing the progress in respect of Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana, it was revealed that under this scheme 208 roads have been sanctioned for Cachar, but due to rains the progress of work has been delayed. It was resolved that by March all the roads should be completed. It was further pointed out that Rs 9 crore has been allotted under CRF. The meeting also discussed the ‘hariyali’ scheme.
