NCCEEE stages dharna

SILCHAR, Sept 15: Expressing concern at the defective and unjustified revision of pay 2010 and revision of pension and retirement benefit, National Coordination Committee of Electricity Employees’ and Engineers’ (NCCEEE) staged dharna on Tuesday in front of the General Manager of the Central Assam Electricity Distribution Company Limited, Barak Valley Zone. Terming the revision of pay as against the interest of the concerned employees as well as pensioners, the coordination committee urged upon the authority for reconsideration of the revision of pay as per their earlier demand. The committee further demanded redefining the revision of pay (ROP) in the line with the other CPUSs and other state electricity boards of the country.
The coordination committee alleged that the grade pay allowed to the employees was not uniform demanding that the minimum 40 per cent of the maximum of the pre-revised scale should be granted. They further said that the range of Pay Band No. 3 of ROP should be from 9500 to 35000. Maintaining that performance based increment was not acceptable to them, the committee said, annual increment should be 3 per cent to all employees. They further maintained that the House Rent for Urban and 12 per cent for rural areas. Similarly they demanded that the medical allowance should be enhanced to Rs. 2,000 per month. (The Sentinel)
