Miraj Foundation honours teachers

SILCHAR, Sept 5: As a part of the celebration of Teachers’ Day, Miraj Foundation, an accredited centre affiliated to Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University (KKHSOU) honoured 18 teachers for their life time contributions in the field of education at a simple function held in the institute in the presence of distinguished assembly.
Among the galaxy of teachers felicitated for their outstanding achievements in the chosen field of activity included Nani Gopal Sinha, Principal, Nehru Vidyapith Higher Secondary School, Akaidam, Karimganj, Amit Kumar Chakraborty, headmaster of SC Deb Vidyapith School, Tarapur Silchar, Dr Nitish Ranjan Laskar, former HOD, Department of History, Cachar College, Samir Medhi, teacher of Narsing Higher Secondary School, Indira Sinha, music teacher, Nehru Girls’ High School, Bekirpar, Ranjit Sinha, Principal, Sri Guru Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, Kabuganj.
The felicitation programme began with recitation from Gita by Dr Bhakta Nabakishore PhD Florida and project director, centre for man making education from ISKCON. This was followed by distribution of appreciation certificates of the seminar on learners support service sponsored by KKHSOU to the students. Bidhan Sinha, Director of Miraj Foundation offered heartfelt thanks to the distinguished assembly of teachers, students and invitees.(The Sentinel)
