SILCHAR, Sept 4: Guwahati Chandmari police recovered a girl from a red light area here on Friday night and arrested her lover who had allegedly sold her to the pimps of the brothel. Both the couple, originally haling from Darrang, were employees of a private company in Guwahati. They fell in love and the girl eloped with the youth named as Rejaul Ali. The girl was taken to Silchar and later sold to the brothel by Ali. Meanwhile, family members of the girl lodged a complaint with Chandmari police station. On the basis of some clues, Chandmari police nabbed Rejaul a few days back. Rejaul confessed that he had sold the girl to a pimp named Shukkur Ali. Later, police recovered the girl but Shukkur had already escaped. (The Sentinel)
