Workshop on Cancer to be organized

SILCHAR, Sept 12: Cachar Cancer Hospital Society and Research Centre will organize a workshop on cancer and its prevention for the journalists of Cachar, Karimganj and Hailakandi districts in the hospital premises on Tuesday.
The workshop, said Director of the Centre Dr Ravi Kannan, would include discussion about the symptoms and causes of cancer, preventive measures, its early detection, diagnosis and treatment of Cancer, palliation care, the facilities available at the hospital for cancer care and efforts of the hospital.
Dr Kannan also added the Hospital is working in collaboration with the Assam University students of Social work placed at the centre for field work in creating awareness on cancer through the media. The centre is organizing this workshop in support with mediapersons in their fight against the disease, he pointed out. (Source – The Sentinel)
