Three-day H1N1 awareness camp held

TEZPUR, Aug 22: With the wake of influenza A (H1N1) in several parts of India, a three-day training camp was organized by the Sonitpur Health Department in the Tezpur Indian Medial Association House recently. The training was imparted to the doctors and the paramedical staff of the district.
According to a press release, a team of four doctors –– Kanaklata Civil Hospital superintendent Dr Anjali Goswami, IDSP DSO Dr R N Roy, KCH SMO Dr T B Chetry and KCH M&HO-I Dr B P Das –– conducted the training programme. About, 97 doctors and 247 paramedical staff were trained to combat the disease.
A detailed discussion on the symptoms and preventive measures of the disease was given in the meeting. An isolation ward was also created in the Kanaklata Civil Hospital which is equipped with a ventilator, 400 triple layer masks, 95 N95 masks, 54 VTM and 12 PPE.
The press release further stated that the Health Department, in order to prevent the spreading of the disease from other parts of the country, constituted three medical teams and deputed them at the Tezpur Airport on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. (Source - Sentinel Assam)
