Mega Entertainment, one of the fashion and pageant event organizers of the Northeast, conducted auditions for the 16th edition of Sunsilk Mega Miss North East and the 9th Edition of Garnier Men Mega Mister North East at Kokrajhar on Sunday.
After Kokrajhar, the Mega Entertainment team will conduct auditions at Agartala on Monday from 11 am onwards.
More than 70 participants, both boys and girls, from Kokrajhar, Baksa, Udalguri, Bongaigaon and other parts of the State were present from the auditions at Kokrajhar.
Both the pageants are the brainchild of fashion entrepreneur Abhijit Singha and have been produced by Mega Entertainment.
The shows will feature the most beautiful women and the most desirable men from across the eight northeastern States, who will travel to Guwahati for the grand finale to be held on June 29 and 30, 2018 respectively.
This year, Mega Entertainment, as a responsible entity of the community, has joined hands with the Assam State Biodiversity Board (ASBB) to raise social awareness regarding the significance of biodiversity with the theme – Biodiversity for posterity and prosperity. As a part of this initiative, awareness campaigns will be organized at various places rich in biodiversity, and the general public will be educated on the importance of preserving the same.
Talking to media persons, Abhijeet Singha, founder of Mega Entertainment said, “In the past 15 years, Mega Miss North East has established a strong foothold across the Northeast and today, it is the most coveted beauty pageant of the region. Because of that, there has been a tremendous change in the quality of talent that we see at the auditions.”
He added, “The girls are much more confident and prepared, as compared to the previous years. They make more efforts in maintaining their skin, hair and overall appearance.”
“Similarly, the contestants of Mega Mister North East start their fitness training for the pageant months in advance, and they are more confident. Now, as we march towards celebrating almost a decade of the pageant, the contestants will be in store for bigger surprises, better opportunities and the associations with many big names from the fashion and glamour industry. I am sure this year’s auditions will bring out yet another group of talented and confident contestants from across the region,” added Singha.
Singha said that the Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2018 winner will get a prize package worth approximately Rs 7 lakh, including the winning crown and sash of Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2018, a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, opportunity to become the face of Sunsilk’s print and outdoor campaigns.
The winner of Garnier Men Mega Mister North East 2018 will get a prize package worth approximately Rs 5,00,000. It includes the official sash and trophy of Garnier Men Mega Mister North East 2018, a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh.
The prize package of both the pageants also includes fitness counselling and membership at Chisel Dighalipukhuri for a year, gift hamper from Rang De Basanti Urban Dhaba, portfolio shoot by leading fashion photographer Rahul Biswas, public relations and reputation management for the reigning term from Life’s Purple and digital celebrity management from One & Zero – The Marketing Trend, Singha added.
The Mega Entertainment team will also conduct auditions at Itanagar on June 6, at Shillong on June 8 and finally in Guwahati on June 10. Through these auditions, the pageant organizers will select 50 women and 50 men from across the 8 northeastern States, who will vie for the coveted title of Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2018 and Garnier Men Mega Mister North East 2018.
