Death of Kula Chandra Singha mourned

Silchar, March 30: At a condolence meeting held on Friday under the presidentship of L Gulamjat Singha in the premises of Oxford Senior Secondary School, Rongpur, near this town, various Manipuri organizations which included Barak Valley Manipuri Ex– Servicemen Welfare Association, Barak Valley Manipuri Development Committee, Manipuri Benevolent Society, Cachar, Apunba Ex–Servicemen Society, Barak Chanuranup Siram Khun, All Assam Manipuri Students' Union, Rajyashri Baghya Chandra Ningsinghim, Tarapur, Joint Action Committee on Manipuri Language and Identity, and Manipuri Literary Society, deeply mourned the sudden demise of Commander M Kula Chandra Singha (Retd.) Indian Navy on March 28 in the Air Force Officers Quarters at Pune due to cardiac arrest.
Commander Kula Chandra Singha was 81 during the time of his death. He is survived by his son Wing Commander in IAF and a daughter. He retired from the Indian Navy as Commander on 1986 and then joined ONGC in 1992 as an Additional Director. Those who spoke about the life and achievements of Kula Chandra Singha included O Nilkanta Singha, K Babu Singha, L Gombalen, K Gulapi, Khairuddin Choudhury, S Rajendra Singha, A Irabot, N Brajalal, N Dhwaja Singha, Kh Raj Ballabh Singha and R K Sontoshjit. A minute's silence was observed after the meeting to convey their deep respect to him and for eternal peace to his departed soul. (Source:SentinelAssam)
