Gautam Roy hands over Rs2 lakh to Sanjib?s widow 


SILCHAR, August 26: Gautam Roy, Minister of PHE, today came to the house of Irom Sanijb Singha at Kaptanpur part-III in the Lakhipur sub division of Cachar, and handed over Rs 2 lakh to his widow from his own fund. He conveyed his deep sense of condolence and sympathy to the family members of Sanjib Singha who was thrown out of a running train near Allahabad on August 17 night.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner of Cachar, Harendra Kumar Dev Mahanta, gave Rs 3 lakh ex gratia on behalf of the State Government. Dinesh Prasad Goala, MLA of the constituency and a Parliamentary Secretary, assured the members of Sanjib's family that he would try his best to get compensation of Rs 4 lakh from the railways. Gautam Roy promised permanent job to the widow of Sanjib, Ranjana Devi, with pension benefit. (SentinelAssam)
