Silchar, Sept 12: P Rajendra Singh has been appointed chairman of sub-divisional OBC (Other Backward Classes) Development Board of Lakhipur by a notification of the Department for Welfare of Plain Tribes and Backward Classes, Government of Assam, in pursuance to the order of the Governor of Assam JB Patnaik. The Governor by his order has reconstituted the OBC Development Board with 26 other members including ex-officio members.
Pradip Singh of Jaypur has been nominated as vice chairman. Dinesh Prasad Goala, former minister and MLA of Lakhipur has been the architect behind the induction of P Rajendra Singh and Pradip Singh as chairman and vice chairman respectively.
He has expressed his good wishes to the newly constituted board and expects it to work in the larger interest of the OBC and other people belonging to the backward classes of the sub division. (SentinelAssam)
