IMPHAL, Sep 26: The 60-hour general strike called by Jiribam District Demand Committee commenced at 6 pm today.
The bandh started affecting normal life with shops remained closed and vehicles off the road except vehicles of security personnel, reports our Jiribam Correspondent.
Meanwhile, around 180 women from various communities of Jiribam continued the relay hunger strike in front of MSF office from 10 am to 5 pm demanding upgradation of Jiribam into a full fledged district. (thesangaiexpress)
