85.62% pass CBSE Class X exam from NE

GUWAHATI, June 4: A total of 41,265 students from the Northeast came out successful in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class X examinations, 2011, the pass percentage being 85.62. A total of 48,196 students took the examinations, the results of which were declared today. The number of students registered from the Northeast (Guwahati Zone) was 48,558. While the pass percentage of boys was 85.61, that of girls was 85.63. As high as 98.38 per cent of students of Kendriya Vidyalayas, 88.19per cent of government schools, 98.55per cent of Jawahar Novodaya Vidyalayas and 98.35 per cent of independent schools came out successful in the examinations. The Guwahati zone has 676 schools under the CBSE with 286 examination centres. (SENTINELASSAM)
