Restriction imposed on movement of vehicular traffic

SILCHAR, May 6: For smooth maintenance of law and order and to avoid congestion of unwanted crowd on the day of counting of votes of Assam Legislative Assembly Election 2011 to be held at ISBT and ISTT building, Ramnagar, here on May 13, the road starting from Chirukandi point to Don Bosco School point will remain closed for all types of vehicular traffic on that day from 5 am till completion of the counting process. The vehicles plying on that road from Silchar to Hailakandi, Karimganj including the vehicles enrouted to Guwahati from Silchar and vice versa are allowed to ply via E and D colony, Ranighat and Badarpur Road on that day. This restriction is not applicable to government vehicles as well as vehicles engaged for election counting duty and having valid car pass. The restrictive order was issued by the District Magistrate of Cachar HK Dev Mahanta who is also the District Election Officer. (SentinelAssam)
