Dr Khomdon Singh Lisam has been appointed as Medical Superintendent of Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital

IMPHAL, Nov 14:Former Project Director (1995-2003) of Manipur State AIDS Control Society (MACS), Dr Khomdon Singh Lisam has been appointed as Medical Superintendent of Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital.
According to an informed source, Dr Khom- don was an important figure in the planning and construction of JN Hospital and had served the hospital as Additional Medical Superintendent during 1989-1993.
Apart from being the first doctor from Manipur to pass the Masters in Hospital Administration from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi in 1981, Dr Khomdon completed hospital Manager’s Training Course from International hospital Federa- tion, london in 1985, the source maintained.
It is also said that Dr Khomdon passed MA in Health Management, Planning and Policy from Leeds university in 1992.
After voluntary retirement in 2003, he worked in Thailand and Myanmar and also as Consultant under the National AIDS Control Organisation, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare during 2005-06, the source added.
Dr Khomdon has reportedly assumed charge of his latest assignment. (sangaiexpress)
