SILCHAR, Aug 1: When AICC secretary Rahul Gandhi contemplates to bring bright and educated youths into the active politics, Susmita Dev, the ousted Chairperson of Silchar Municipal Board, was pulled down from her post only because of some powerful party leaders wanted to take political vendetta, maintaining this Sarifujjaman Laskar, general secretary of the North East Congress Committee said, he would report the whole episode to Rahul Gandhi, AICC president Sonia Gandhi, her political advisor Ahmed Patel. Laskar said, it was a shameless act by some Congress Ward Commissioner who voted in favour of BJP to oust Susmita. Maintaining that it was Minister Dinesh Prasad Goala as the main conspirator had come up, Laskar said, Goala should clarify his stand whether he supported the seven party Ward Commissioners’ act of supporting BJP’s no-confidence motion against Susmita Dev. Meanwhile, Cha Sramik Union, of which Goala was the general secretary, condemned the incident of Goala’s effigy being burnt inside the Congress office compound. Hinting that the entire demonstration was actually fuelled by former Union Minister Sontosh Mohan Dev, the Union threatened that if such nefarious design was not foiled immediately by the district Congress, then the situation would further worsen.
