SILCHAR, August 17 : Two students of Emmanuel English High School, Pailapool- Master G. Nelsonboy Sharma, son of G. Nabakumar and Nirmala Sharma, and Thadoi Devi, daughter of M. Bimal and Prabhabati Singha have been awarded the prestigious “Bir Chilarai Award” for the year 2009-2010 along with a cash prize of Rs. 25,000 each at Dispur on the occasion of the 64th Independence Day.
It is to be mentioned here that Master Nelsonboy Sharma participated in the Republic Day Parade in Delhi in the year 2009 and Thadoi Devi had achieved the first position in the national level snap shooting competition organized by the NCC in 2008.
This sort of achievement is the first of its kind in Lakhipur sub- division of Cachar. The school authority hope that their achievements will inspire many other students and many more laurels will be won in the days to come. (SENTINELASSAM)
